HCG within the medical field is primarily administered via intramuscular (IM) injections, although it can also be administered subcutaneously, which has also become just as frequent as IM injections. Studies have found that when intramuscular and subcutaneous injections of HCG were compared, the results were almost the exact same for both, indicating almost no difference between the two . The only difference between the two methods of injection is the difference in the rate of release from the injection site and the time required for peak blood plasma levels to be reached (6 hours for IM, and 16 – 20 hours for subcutaneous). The majority of anabolic steroid users will elect to inject HCG subcutaneously.
Two days after the fight, Dana White revealed in an interview that "Nogueira had just gotten over a Staph infection ." Nogueira himself verified this fact several months later in his own interview, stating that he had a staph infection "20 days before the fight, [requiring] 5 days in the hospital." When asked if this infection affected his fight, he answered, "For sure." In addition to this illness, his knee was injured during training for which he had surgery in February 2009. Despite these handicaps, Nogueira offered strong praise for Mir's performance, with particular credit given to Mir's ability to maintain "very good distance."
Obviously this is quite a difficult issue, doping in general. I don’t think it can ever be eliminated or even significantly reduced. That being said, I still think we should try. In my opinion, we should continue to fight for that very unrealistic dream of “natural athletes”. I’d love to see what humans are really capable of, even though many would rather go back to an era of Blagoevs, Zlatevs, Suleymanoglus etc. And as for today, we should at least not give preferential treatments to anyone. Every time I hear a British/American low tier lifter whine about the “mighty, roided Russians” or shit like that my stomach turns. Like they’re fuckin clean. And people hate on the exceptional Russian lifters calin them out, while praising Xiaojun and Ilya, who are obiously doped af. It ain’t right.
