Reports of acute toxicity and metabolic disturbances with glucocorticoids are rare but do occur. There is no clinical syndrome of acute overdosage with Methylprednisolone . Acute overdose may possibly aggravate pre-existing disease states such as ulceration of the gastrointestinal tract, electrolyte disturbances, infections, diabetes and oedema. Repeated high doses of methylprednisolone have caused hepatic necrosis and an increase in amylase. Bradyarrhythmias, ventricular arrhythmias and cardiac arrest have been observed in cases of intravenous administration of high doses of methylprednisolone.

I had a severe allergic reaction two weeks ago to an unknown substance, and they gave me prednisone thru IV at the ER. Then they sent me home with a 15 day taper of tablets...60mg for 5 days, 40mg for 5 days, and finally 20 mg for 5 days. They did not tell me ANYTHING about this drug, and had I known the awful way it would make me feel, I would have refused it. Throughout the time I was taking the pills, I had terrible anxiety (which, I usually have anxiety, but nothing as intense as this), crying spells, heart palpitations, trouble breathing, you name it! I spoke to my doc and some pharmacists who told me that these were all side effects of the prednisone and should subside once the drug is out of my system. Well, I took my last 20mg Friday morning (Aug 1), and have not felt much better since then. Sat and Sunday I just felt like I had the flu or something...I just wanted to sleep and I felt kind of nauseated and headachey. Luckily, though, the heart palpitations let up, so that was nice. Today, however, my anxiety is just out the roof! I don't feel tired like I did, but instead I feel almost too revved up---like my adrenal glands are overcompensating or something.

60 mg/m2 orally daily on days 1, 2, 3, and 4; bortezomib mg/m2 subcutaneously twice weekly on weeks 1, 2, 4, and 5 of cycle 1 followed by bortezomib mg/m2 subcutaneously once weekly on weeks 1, 2, 4, and 5 of cycles 2 to 9; and melphalan 9 mg/m2 orally daily on days 1, 2, 3, and 4 repeated every 42 days for 9 cycles in combination with daratumumab 16 mg/kg IV every 3 weeks for 8 doses (starting on cycle 2) was evaluated in a randomized, phase III trial (the ALCYONE trial; n = 706). Treatment with daratumumab 16 mg/kg IV every 4 weeks was continued until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity.

I was recently put on prednisone to help battle an ear infection
At first it was helping. Then I started flushing on my face and arms. The flushing was so bad it was like the worst sunburn ever. I had to keep cold compresses on it. Then I couldn't sleep and by chance I did fall into a light sleep I would have terrible night mares.
I just quit the Meds having a few days left. And now 3 days later still suffering.
Head feels foggy. Wake up feeling empending doom. Head aches bad.
Hopefully this will pass sooner than what u have read on others post.
